Once a year, the entire office goes on a sponsored tour abroad. This year, we chose Alicante in southeastern Spain. A very welcome choice, since the weather has been awful most of the summer and fall. What could be more welcome in November than going to a resort where it hardly ever rains, and where the winter temperatures are at a nice, even 20 degrees Celsius?. I've been looking forward to it so much that I already decided to stay until next Saturday, even though the official program only lasts until Wednesday (I'm not the only one in the office who has decided on that).

We combine this trip with the annual Christmas party, which is tonight. Of course, we also have a work-related excursion - To the old Leper's Hospital in Fontilles, a few hour's drive away from here (we at the national archives are also involved in the local Leper Hospital museum in Bergen). But there's a lot of leisure time for everyone involved. Fortunately, the hotel also has wireless internet access, so I can vacate while staying updated - and update.
